A man identified as Lair Pablo was detained by residents in the Libertad neighborhood of Oaxaca de Juárez after physically assaulting a woman walking down the street with her young son.

According to neighborhood reports, the man chased the woman, touched her without her consent, and caused her to fall to the ground before attempting to flee.

The incident occurred on Heriberto Jara Street, within the Libertad neighborhood. The victim was walking on the sidewalk holding her young son’s hand when she crossed paths with a man walking in the opposite direction. Suddenly, the man changed direction, quickened his pace, and grabbed her from behind, touching her legs and buttocks.

Due to the force of the struggle and the impact of the unexpected attack, the woman lost her balance and fell to the ground.

Seeing the mother on the ground, the attacker immediately fled on foot. However, the victim’s cries for help alerted shopkeepers and residents of neighboring homes.

Several citizens who witnessed the final part of the altercation came to the woman’s defense and chased the alleged assailant through the nearby blocks.

The group of neighbors managed to block his path, detained him by force, and proceeded to photograph both his face and the identification he was carrying, ensuring he did not escape before the police arrived.

Through reports shared on social media by the victim’s family, the detainee was identified as Lair Pablo J. H.

In the same posts, relatives indicated that this man allegedly works in the maintenance department at the Carlos Gracida Institute, a private school in the area, although this information has not been confirmed by the school.

Municipal police officers arrived at the scene to formally take custody of the individual detained by the community. The officers took the accused to the Public Prosecutor’s Office so that the corresponding investigation file could be opened for the crime of sexual harassment.
