SALINA CRUZ, Oaxaca.- An armed criminal shot himself in the leg while trying to commit an assault at a gas station in this city, last Holy Tuesday night.

The subject was identified as J.A., alias Chucky, who injured himself while handling a firearm in the failed robbery of a dispatcher at the Transeoceánica gas station, in the Aviación neighborhood.

The thief was thrown to the side of a gasoline pump screaming in pain.

The employees reported what happened to the 911 Emergency Service, for which elements of the Municipal Police and the Navy attended.

Paramedics from the National Emergency Commission (CNE) also showed up to help the injured person and, after stabilizing him, they took him to the Specialties Hospital in San Antonio Monterrey.
