3 cities of Oaxaca await economical spills of 865 million pesos during Easter holidays
Oaxaca de Juárez.- The State Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR Oaxaca) reported that the government estimates an economic benefit of 865 million pesos in the three main tourist destinations in the state, during the holiday season.
From April 3 to 16, an average hotel occupancy of 66.63% and the visit of 217 thousand 559 national and foreign visitors are calculated, in the destinations of Oaxaca City, Bahías de Huatulco and Puerto Escondido.
The numbers indicate that during this season the City of Oaxaca will have a hotel occupancy of 58% and the arrival of 109 thousand 571, which will generate an income of 286 million pesos.
For Bahías de Huatulco, the calculation of hotel occupancy is 81% with the arrival of 54,255 visitors and a spill of 420 million pesos.
In Puerto Escondido, an occupation of 63% of the total available rooms is estimated, the visit of 53 thousand 733 people and an economic benefit of 158 million pesos.
In a comparison with the year 2022, it is expected that in the three destinations during Holy Week and Easter the hotel occupancy will increase by 5 points, in 12.51% the arrival of tourists with 24 thousand 198 more people and 55 million additional pesos.
For Holy Week, which runs from April 3 to 9, in the City of Oaxaca, Bahías de Huatulco and Puerto Escondido, an average hotel occupancy of 70.39% is calculated, the arrival of 109 thousand 304 national and international tourists and an economic benefit of 452 million pesos.
In the state capital, hotel occupancy is estimated at 61.12% with the arrival of 53,253 visitors and an approximate economic income of 154 million pesos; in Bahías de Huatulco, 86% in hotel occupancy, the influx of 27 thousand 183 tourists and 219 million pesos.
For Puerto Escondido, an occupation of 65% is expected, the visit of 28 thousand 867 people and 79 million pesos in economic benefits.
For the Easter week from April 10 to 16, an occupancy of 62.84% is expected for the three tourist destinations with the arrival of 108,255 tourists and an estimated income of 413 million pesos.
During these days it is estimated that the City of Oaxaca receives 56 thousand 318 tourists for a hotel occupancy of 55% and the spill of 133 million pesos; In Bahías de Huatulco, hotel occupancy of 81% is expected, with an influx of 27,071 visitors and an economic benefit of 202 million pesos.
In the case of Puerto Escondido, estimates indicate a hotel occupancy of 61%, the arrival of 24,866 visitors and an economic benefit of 79 million pesos.
