Air Canada will open a new route between Vancouver, Canada, and Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, during the 2026-2027 winter season, the Oaxaca Tourism Secretariat (Sectur Oaxaca) announced.
The international connection will operate from December 7, 2026, to April 10, 2027, with flights scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
According to Sectur Oaxaca, the new route will offer 73 flights and an estimated 13,797 international seats to the tourist destination on the Oaxacan coast.
The state agency indicated that this connection aims to strengthen the arrival of international visitors to Puerto Escondido, one of the main tourist destinations on the Mexican Pacific coast.
In recent years, Puerto Escondido has experienced growth in national and international air connectivity due to the increase in foreign visitors, primarily from the United States and Canada.
The opening of international routes is part of the tourism strategy to expand markets and strengthen economic activity related to lodging, gastronomy and tourist services in the coastal region.
