The head of the Roads for Well-being (Cabien), Moisés Salazar Martínez, reported that, using machinery and personnel from this agency and the affected municipalities, they have removed landslides in different sections, along 335 kilometers, which has allowed the reopening of vehicular traffic in all areas.

“We have all roads open and continue removing major landslides; nothing is isolated,” he stated at the press conference led by Governor Salomón Jara Cruz.

The state official detailed that the roads being serviced are Santa María Yucuhiti-Yosotato, in the Mixteca region; on the Oaxacan coast: Cerro del Vidrio-Juquila-Río Grande, Portillo las Flores-San José la Unión-Cerro Cantor located in San Agustín Loxicha, San Bartolomé Loxicha-Agua Blanca, Sola de Vega-Juchatengo-Cerro del Vidrio-San Gabriel-Puerto Escondido.

He explained that a temporary crossing was opened in this last section because the floodwaters swept away part of the road. The crossing there is only for small vehicles.

Meanwhile, in the Sierra de Juárez, Cabien worked on the San Pedro y San Pablo Ayutla-Santa María Alotepec road; in the Sierra Sur: Paraje Hierba Santa-Buenavista de Juárez-Independencia, in Santa Cruz Itundujia; Llano Nopal-Yosocañu; and Llano Nopal-Río Metates in Constancia del Rosario.

The Government of Oaxaca is carrying out these efforts in coordination with municipal authorities, who, in many cases, have provided their heavy machinery and received fuel.
