This Thursday, the arrival of the Island Princess cruise ship from Puerto Vallarta marked the official close of the season. This vessel brought the total number of cruise ships received at the port of Santa Cruz Huatulco to 19, with this last visit alone generating an estimated turnover of 2,316,954 pesos.
The state official emphasized that the arrival of these cruise ships boosts the local economy, fosters job creation, and strengthens the promotion of Oaxacan culture, cuisine, and traditions. It also represents a direct benefit to artisans, service providers, businesses, and restaurants in the region.
“Huatulco is consolidating its position as one of the most attractive vacation destinations in the country. Therefore, we are working on its positioning at international fairs such as Fitur (Madrid), the Anato Tourism Showcase (Colombia), and the 2025 Mexico Tourism Tianguis,” explained Pineda Velasco.
Among the vessels that visited Huatulco this season are: Crystal Serenity, Nieuw Amsterdam, Eurodam, Seabourn Quest, Coral Princess, Zaandam, Seabourn Encore, Caribbean Princess, and Odyssey, in addition to the aforementioned Island Princess.
SECTUR reiterated its commitment to continue positioning Oaxacan destinations in international tourism, especially cruises, as a key tool for regional and community economic development.
