As part of the celebration of the city’s 493rd anniversary, a series of activities filled with culture, art, and sports will be held.
Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca, April 19, 2025. – As part of the 493rd anniversary of Oaxaca de Juárez’s elevation to the rank of city, the Rodolfo Morales Spring Festival will kick off this Sunday, April 20th. This celebration will fill various spaces in the capital with life and color, with free activities for the whole family.
The opening day will begin at 7:00 a.m. in the Plaza de la Danza, with a 5- and 10-kilometer athletic race through the streets of the Historic Center.
Later, in the same space, a day of fun family games will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The festival will officially open with a special concert dedicated to maestro Rodolfo Morales, honoring his artistic legacy, at 12 noon in the city’s Zócalo. The first day will be accompanied by a variety of cultural activities such as ceramics workshops, body printing, photography exhibitions, as well as dance performances and concerts.
The activities on Monday, April 21st, will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the presentation of the Spring Menu at the Municipal Historical Archives, concluding with a spectacular concert by singer Mane de la Parra at 7:00 p.m. in the Plaza de la Danza.
The Municipal Government of Oaxaca de Juárez and the State Secretariat of Culture and the Arts invite everyone to be part of this great spring festival that honors Oaxacan history, tradition, and talent.
