Canadian tourist killed in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca; It is the second attack on foreigners in a week

So far, the causes of the attack on the Canadian tourist in Puerto Escondido or if there are any detainees are unknown.

After the attack on three Argentine tourists in Oaxaca, this Monday the death of a 27-year-old man of Canadian origin was recorded in Puerto Escondido.

This is Víctor Masson who died after being shot in the back while he was on board a vehicle. So far it is unknown what the causes of the attack were.

The events occurred on Mar del Norte street in the Arroyo Seco neighborhood belonging to Puerto Escondido, municipality of San Pedro Mixtepec.

Paramedics from the Red Cross and municipal Civil Protection of San Pedro Mixtepec went to the place to attend to the Canadian tourist, but he no longer had vital signs.

Personnel from the Office of the Deputy Prosecutor of the Coast in Oaxaca began with the corresponding investigations to determine what happened and gather evidence of those responsible for the homicide.

This same week, relatives of Benjamín Gamond, one of the three young Argentines attacked with a machete in Lagunas de Chacahua, Oaxaca, confirmed his death.

Benjamín suffered three cuts to his head as a result of which he went into hypovolemic shock. Benjamin was hospitalized and later transferred to a hospital in Mexico City, where he died.
