The phenomenon was formed due to temperature differences between the ocean surface and the atmosphere, which caused a minitornado.

A waterspout that occurred in the vicinity of Puerto Escondido, linked to high temperatures, caused a squall along the coastline, which left minor damage in family kitchens, reported the Oaxaca Civil Protection meteorologist, Cutberto Ruiz Jarquín

In an interview, he explained that the phenomenon is rare and has a short duration, it was formed due to the difference in temperatures between the ocean surface and the atmosphere, which caused the winds to swirl, raise the sea water and form a minitornado, which caused the furniture and palapas of the restaurants, located on Playa Roca Blanca, to fly.

The squall lasted almost half an hour, moved along the shore of the Oaxacan beaches and hit Roca Blanca, where it began to dissipate rapidly.

Through a video, an inhabitant of the area is shocked by the havoc caused by the untimely phenomenon, in the restaurant area.

The Civil Protection official asked the inhabitants of the Oaxaca coast to be very aware of the sea conditions, due to the tropical wave, number 5, of the season, leaving rains with isolated storms of short duration.
