The former public servant of the Civil Registry is accused of the crimes of document falsification, illegal exercise of public service and violation of other guarantees, in the case of the Gómez Conzatti brothers
Oaxaca de Juárez.– This Friday a new arrest was made of a former Oaxaca government official linked to the group known as “el Cártel del Despojo”, government sources confirmed to EL UNIVERSAL.
The former public servant was arrested this Friday morning on Galeana street, in San Francisco Lachigolo, Oaxaca and is identified as Ulises G. B.
According to official information, the former official is accused of the crimes of document falsification, illegal exercise of public service and violation of other guarantees.
According to criminal file: 258/2022, the arrest is linked to the case of the Gómez Conzatti brothers, who were victims of identity suppression from the Oaxaca Civil Registry and other institutions, where their names were deleted from official documents to seize their properties, in what they have defined as a “State operation”.
Preliminary information indicates that Ulises G.B. was allegedly one of the Civil Registry officials who made the name changes in the system to make the identity of the three brothers Caleb, Ashmar and Herbe Goméz Conzatti disappear.
It was due to the public denunciations of the brothers that the criminal structure known as the “Cartel del Despojo” was revealed, and for which case the notary public 135 of Oaxaca, Jorge Alberto Merlo Gómez, considered the visible head of this scheme, has also been arrested charges of corruption, and Jorge Armando Zárate Medina, former director of the Cadastral Institute of the State of Oaxaca during the government of Alejandro Murat (PRI).
