Edith and Lidia are murdered in Oaxaca, there are 38 femicides in the government of Salomón Jara

On the eve of International Women’s Day, Edith M.H. and Lidia L.A. were assassinated in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 38 femicides in the incipient government of Salomón Jara Cruz.

In the municipality of Santa María Petapa, in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec region, Edith M.H., 29 years old, was shot to death; while in the Valles Centrales region, in Santa María Atzompa, they located 34-year-old Lidia L.A. with her throat cut.

According to the platform of femicide violence of the Consortium for Parliamentary Dialogue and Equity, in the government of the Morenista Salomón Jara Cruz there have been 200 attacks against women, of which 28 are sexual crimes, 109 disappearances, 30 femicides, four suicides and 21 cases of family violence.

The Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office began an investigation folder, under a femicide protocol, after the discovery of the lifeless body of a woman (Lidia), which was located this Monday morning in a vacant lot in the Forestal neighborhood, belonging to the municipality of Santa Maria Atzompa.

According to the first reports, around 06:30 a.m. the body of a woman was located with a deep wound to the neck and another to the chest, caused by a sharp weapon.

The woman was identified as Lidia, who was a housewife and neighbor of the Forestal neighborhood.

Later, around 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, on Porvenir street in the Nuevo Progreso neighborhood, in Santa María Petapa, Edith, who was an employee of a cell phone accessories store, who was shot to death.

Similarly, the Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office initiated the investigation folder, under the feminicide protocol.
