Teachers from Section 22 of the National Education Workers’ Coordinator (CNTE) maintained a blockade on Avenida Juárez at the intersection with Calzada Héroes de Chapultepec, in Oaxaca de Juárez, as part of the protests announced during President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo’s visit to the state capital.
The demonstration was carried out in connection with the teachers’ mobilization during the president’s presence in Oaxaca. The blockade affected vehicle circulation along Avenida Juárez, prompting authorities and local media to recommend that motorists use alternative routes and drive with caution.
Reports indicated that the traffic disruption was concentrated on Avenida Juárez, while circulation on Avenida Héroes de Chapultepec remained open at the time of the reports.
The presence of the teachers formed part of a broader mobilization by Section 22 during Sheinbaum’s visit. The teachers have continued to press the federal government and state authorities over their labor-related demands, including issues involving working conditions and social security.
The blockade caused traffic complications in one of the main areas of Oaxaca de Juárez, with motorists advised to plan their journeys accordingly because circulation conditions could change as the demonstrations continued.
