The State Government, through the Oaxaca Tourism Secretariat (Sectur Oaxaca), is participating in Seatrade Cruise Global 2026, with the goal of promoting the Costa region as a competitive destination for the international cruise market.

The head of the agency, Saymi Pineda Velasco, explained that, as part of Governor Salomón Jara Cruz’s strategy to make tourism an engine of well-being for local communities, meetings will be held with international cruise lines and industry representatives.

A meeting will also be held with the CEO of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), Michele Paige, to follow up on the working meeting held with this association last November in Huatulco Bays, where strategies to attract more cruise ships to the destination were discussed.

It is worth mentioning that, from January to March, the town of Santa Cruz Huatulco received a total of 12 cruise ships, with 20,307 passengers and 9,072 crew members, which generated an economic impact of approximately 23 million 360 thousand pesos.
