Both events were well-established in the port of Ensenada but were discontinued several years ago.
The Fish and Seafood Festival and Ensenada Gets Dressed in Wine are returning this year to the calendar of activities and events of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) Ensenada.
Scheduled for Sunday, June 14th at the Riviera in Ensenada, the Fish and Seafood Festival “is one of the most important for us; it’s about bringing it back to the city. It was born here, it was born at the Riviera,” said the local Canirac leader, Luis Novelo.
As for Ensenada Gets Dressed in Wine, it will take place on Sunday, August 9th, although the venue for the event, which aims to showcase the wine offerings and “bring the Valle de Guadalupe to the city,” has not yet been revealed.
Novelo announced the idea of an event called “Oysters and Wine,” similar to Provino’s “Shellfish and New Wine” event, but this one would feature a happy hour at restaurants to promote both products.
Another event organized by Canirac this year is the Gastronomic Award, which will recognize the work of restaurateurs and their businesses. The event will also serve as the organization’s anniversary celebration with a dinner featuring six restaurants, six wineries, and six producers.
New additions include a wine pairing event for women entrepreneurs and a suppliers’ expo, the former on May 14th and the latter in September, date to be confirmed.
