The Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca highway remains closed, marking 14 days since the January 13 landslide on the Huitzo-Oaxaca section, in the municipality of San Pablo Etla. The National Guard is securing the area to prevent accidents, causing traffic congestion.
Motorists are being diverted onto dirt roads to alleviate the accumulated traffic. Authorities suggest taking the Huajuapan de León-Oaxaca highway as an alternative, recommending driving slowly and following the signs.
Additionally, another partial closure of the Mexico-Puebla Highway is expected between January 26 and 30 for urban beautification work.
