Popular content creator Sujin Kim, better known as Chingu Amiga, has once again taken the internet by storm with a project that unites her two great loves. At an unprecedented gastronomic event in Seoul, the influencer decided to demonstrate that Mexican food is much more than fast-food chains, bringing tacos and tlayudas back to her homeland.

As she shared on her social media, the project stemmed from a desire to show her fellow Koreans the authentic flavors she discovered while living in Mexico for the past decade. Supported by her boyfriend Rodrigo and her family, Sujin set up a pop-up taqueria that attracted hundreds of people eager for a unique culinary experience.

What made this initiative special was the logistics behind the flavor, as the key ingredients were brought directly from Oaxaca. From the tasajo (dried beef) to the spices for the chorizo, Sujin ensured that the essence of Mexican cuisine wasn’t lost on the long transatlantic journey.

The culinary offerings weren’t limited to ordinary tacos, as Chungu Amiga aimed to showcase the complexity of traditional Mexican cuisine to a discerning audience. Attendees were able to sample dishes rarely seen in Asia, prepared under the supervision of experts in authentic Mexican seasoning.

Those attending the event enjoyed a carefully curated selection that included the following traditional dishes:

Chorizo and tasajo tacos: Prepared with fresh corn tortillas and salsas with a milder spiciness for local diners.
Oaxacan tlayudas: A star dish that surprised everyone with its size and the combination of textures between the crispy corn and the Oaxacan cheese.
Grasshoppers and edible insects: The biggest cultural challenge of the day, presented as a traditional snack that generated mixed reactions but also a lot of curiosity.
Traditional drinks: Hibiscus water and horchata were served to accompany the food and refresh customers after the long lines. Reactions and an Unexpected Sales Success
The public’s response was so overwhelming that the supplies calculated for the entire day were gone in just three hours of continuous service. Korean customers not only praised the flavor but also highlighted the enormous difference between these dishes and what they were used to commercially in Seoul.

Among the most viral reactions, several diners stated that the flavor was so authentic that it “far surpasses Taco Bell” in terms of quality. Latinos residing in Korea also made their presence felt, expressing their nostalgia and gratitude for having a little piece of their homeland in the Korean capital.

For Sujin, this event represents a personal triumph after overcoming previous health problems from eating tacos of dubious origin on Mexican streets. The influencer humorously shared that she can now proudly say that her tacos are not only delicious but also safe and gourmet.

The success of this gastronomic experiment has opened the door for Chingu Amiga to consider establishing a permanent food business in her country. For now, it is clear that the Korean woman’s charisma and Mexico’s wealth form a winning formula that transcends any geographical border.
