International connectivity to Oaxaca has been strengthened with the increased frequency of flights on the direct route from Houston, Texas, which will now operate more weekly flights to Oaxaca International Airport.
The Oaxaca Tourism Secretariat reported that, starting October 26, the airline added flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, in addition to its regular daily service.
This adjustment will remain in effect until March 29, 2026, the Secretariat stated in a press release.
According to the Secretariat, the increase represents 89 additional flights and 6,764 new seats available for international travelers to the state during this period.
The Secretariat highlighted that the arrival of the flight was celebrated with a cultural performance showcasing Oaxacan traditions, welcoming passengers in a symbolic act that reflected the state’s hospitality and rich cultural heritage.
With this expansion, the Government of Oaxaca and the airlines strengthen the strategy to position tourism as an engine of economic development, with direct benefits for communities, service providers and the local production chain.
