Oaxaca participated in the 63rd Ordinary Assembly of the Association of Tourism Secretaries of Mexico (ASETUR), held in Oaxaca. The meeting featured a presentation of the Tourism Assessment, which will design destination promotion strategies, including the state’s own, to position itself globally.

At this meeting, Saymi Pineda Velasco, head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur Oaxaca), affirmed that the coordination and collaborative work of ASETUR will yield positive results in promoting the country’s attractions and positioning the state as one of the favorite destinations in national and international markets.

Attending as ASETUR Secretary, the official noted that tourism is an engine of development, generating well-being and opportunities for Mexico’s regions, especially Oaxaca. The dissemination of its natural, cultural, culinary, and artisanal wealth enables progress for communities through job creation and the economic impact of visitors.

At the meeting, the Great Vision for Tourism in Mexico by 2050 project was presented, aiming to achieve a sustainable, innovative, inclusive, and resilient tourism model that seeks the country’s economic development without neglecting the well-being of its population and the environment. The goal is for Mexico to become the fifth most visited country in the world.

During the meeting, led by Bernardo Cueto Riestra, Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo and president of Asetur, information was provided on the initiative to implement institutional campaigns for the states and the offerings offered to attract tourists.
