With a firm commitment to boosting the competitiveness of the state’s tourism sector, Oaxaca Governor Salomón Jara Cruz attended the National Meeting of the Treasures of Mexico Association, which aims to promote excellence in hotel and restaurant service.
Oaxaca, the cultural and gastronomic heart of the country
Accompanied by the head of the Federal Tourism Secretariat, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, the state governor indicated that this initiative by tourism entrepreneurs, which certifies the quality of establishments in the sector, represents an opportunity to continue positioning Oaxaca as the cultural, linguistic, and gastronomic heart of the country.
“We will continue working together from the public sector to position Oaxaca and Mexico as one of the most authentic, attractive, and sustainable tourist destinations in the world,” he stated.
Jara Cruz affirmed that Oaxaca is a niche of opportunities for national and international tourism thanks to the living heritage of the indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples.
This event formalized the organization and coordination of the activities carried out by the various businesses that are ambassadors of this Association.
In this regard, Rodríguez Zamora highlighted the coordinated work of the Government of Oaxaca with the business sector, which has promoted this economic activity with successful results.
“We have 32 venues with the Treasures of Mexico distinction. This recognition is a reflection of Mexican quality and identity in a single location, and it is a benchmark of our country’s competitiveness in the world,” he said.
During the meeting, the recognition was presented to the Vice President of the Treasures of Mexico Hotel and Restaurant Association, Juan Corral Maldonado, for his vision, dedication, commitment, and drive for national tourism.
