People have reported mass poisonings in two parts of Oaxaca: Puerto Escondido and Tlalixtac de Cabrera, sparking outrage, primarily on social media.
In Puerto Escondido, a demonstration was held in which animal rights activists blamed the carnitas restaurant La Michoacana, claiming that they gave poisoned bones to stray dogs roaming around the business.
Therefore, they asked the Puerto Escondido municipal agent to implement urgent measures to protect the dogs and punish those responsible for the poisoning.
Meanwhile, in Tlalixtac de Cabrera, 35 poisoned dogs were found in different parts of the municipality, prompting animal rights activists to request the intervention of the Attorney General’s Office.
“We demand that the Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office intervene and arrest those responsible. The Animal Protection Law in Oaxaca is in force and must be enforced,” they stated.
