Industrial activity grew in 19 of Mexico’s 32 states in 2024.
The state that registered the greatest growth was Oaxaca, driven by the construction of the Interoceanic Corridor, with an increase of 11.6% year-over-year, according to figures from INEGI (National Institute of Statistics and Geography).
Other states that ranked among the five with the most pronounced growth in industrial activity were Durango with 8.2%; Veracruz with 5.6%; Guanajuato with 5.3%; and Guerrero with 4.3%.
It is noteworthy that some of these states had been significantly behind in industrial terms in previous years.
On the other hand, Quintana Roo—the pearl of Mexican tourism—was the state that registered the steepest decline in industrial activity, with a decrease of 20.2% compared to the previous year.
