November festivities on the Oaxaca Coast: a spectacular celebration

The Oaxaca Coast is preparing for spectacular November festivities, with an extensive program that promises to reactivate the region’s economy. From Puerto Escondido, various artistic, gastronomic, cultural, sports and musical activities will be held from November 1 to 30, attracting thousands of local, national and international visitors.

Featured Activities

The Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) in Oaxaca, headed by Saymi Pineda Velasco, estimates that more than 132 thousand visitors will generate an economic impact of more than 239 million pesos. The festivities will include:

Fish Jamm: Third edition in Playa Zicatela, November 15 and 16.
Coastal Dance Festival: November 16 and 17 in San Pedro Mixtepec.
UABJO LED Triathlon: November 17 in Playa Coral, San Pedro Mixtepec.
International Sport Fishing Tournament: November 22-24 in Bahía Principal, San Pedro Mixtepec.
Puerto Escondido Challenge Open Water Tournament: November 23 and 24 in Punta Zicatela.
Mixteca State Pelota Championship: November 23 and 24 in Bajos de Chila.
Zicatela Mexican Pro 2024 International Surf Tournament: November 28-30 in Punta Zicatela.
State Beach Volleyball Championship: November 30 – December 1 in Punta Zicatela.
In addition, there will be celebrations such as the International Jazz and Something More Festival 2024 in Mazunte from November 15 to 17, and the State Beach Volleyball Championship in Puerto Ángel.

Guelaguetza del Mar: A Meeting of Traditions
One of the most anticipated events is the Second Edition of the Guelaguetza del Mar, which will take place on November 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Playa Zicatela. This event will feature the participation of 10 official delegations, led by the Goddess Centéotl and accompanied by a group of Puerto Ángel basket makers and the Music Band of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection.

The party will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Convite that will depart from the Tourist Information Module to Brisas Zicatela.
