Once again, Oaxaca is nominated in the Best of Mexico 2024 awards from México Desconocido magazine, which aims to recognize the best destinations and tourist experiences in the country.
The state is nominated in six categories for its natural wonders, festivities, and cultural wealth, reported the state’s Tourism Secretariat (Sectur).
According to the tourist magazine México Desconocido, the lists of nominated states are integrated based on the number of searches carried out within the various sites of the specialized media, and the analysis of a committee of experts on the subject.
This committee takes into account factors such as originality and authenticity of destinations and experiences; aspects such as cleanliness, environmental care, sustainability, roots in traditions, preservation of cultural legacy and tourist infrastructure, among others.
For the sixth edition, the categories are:
- Best State to savor and discover its traditional and ancestral cuisine,
- Best State to discover its charms on the road, Magic Town to live the best experience facing the sea (Mazunte),
- Best Travel Proposal to experience an authentic and unmatched experience (Living the Guelaguetza) and Best ancestral celebration to connect with our roots (Guelaguetza),
- Best Magical Town for a health and well-being getaway (Mazunte).
To choose Oaxaca you have to enter the league and register with an email, create a username and password, and then the platform will show the option.
Sectur invited the general public to participate starting this Monday, March 11 and until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, enter the digital platform https://lomejormexico.com/ and vote for Oaxaca.
The results will be announced at the Tianguis Turístico México 2024, which will take place from April 10 to 12 in Acapulco, Guerrero.
