Yesterday at an event organized at the national headquarters of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Senator Xóchitl Gálvez once again questioned the productive capacity of the southeastern area of Mexico, specifically Oaxaca.

Before the PRI leadership, which organized an event to recognize and support her, she detracted from the productive merits of the Mexican southeast.

“Why didn’t Tesla go to Oaxaca? I would love for it to go to Oaxaca, but if we don’t have the human capital, we don’t have the infrastructure, we don’t have gas, there’s no way?” said the candidate from the Frente Amplio por México.

At the meeting, before a packed audience, Plutarco Elías Calles, Gálvez Ruiz, blamed the fact that the automotive company Tesla did not settle in Oaxaca because it lacked human capital, a state that was governed, uninterruptedly, for 80 years by members of PRI.

Previously, on August 21, Gálvez received severe criticism from different sectors of society when she said that in Chiapas Mexicans worked fewer hours than the northern states.

“There is a different culture in the southeast of the country and we cannot apply a model similar to that of the north (…) with Fox they wanted to install maquiladoras in San Cristóbal de las Casas and I told them: it is going to be a failure, no one is going to go.” to work eight hours straight because it is not their culture,’” he said when he participated in the second regional forum of the Frente Amplio por México, held in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

She said that for the indigenous communities of the southeast, “solutions with identity” must be used, as well as human capital, universities, decent housing and infrastructure according to their needs.

Alito Moreno, national president of the PRI and Carolina Viggiano, general secretary of the National Executive Committee (CEN), led the event that was attended by former PRI leaders and governors.

Tesla Manufacturing Mexico, a subsidiary company of the American electric vehicle manufacturer, whose owner is one of the richest men in the world, Elon Musk, is waiting for authorization to change the land use of a 260-hectare forest property where it will build its assembly plant in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.

The requested land use change is for the property located outside the entity’s protected natural areas, in Cerro La Mota and Cumbres de Monterrey; The company promises preservation actions and that its activity will be aimed at the sustainable development of the place.

It is expected that the headquarters of the Mexican subsidiary will take 36 months to build; Once installed, it will be able to manufacture, import, export, distribute, store, and sell energy storage solutions, including parts, components and accessories thereof.
