Huatulco beaches obtain Blue Flag eco-label

Mexico has innumerable tourist destinations that year after year are visited by national and foreign travelers, among the best known and requested are in the Caribbean such as Cancun, Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, etc. However, other states, such as Oaxaca, are also among the top preferred destinations.

This is why the international organization Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) granted the Chahué and Dreams Tangolunda beaches in Huatulco the Blue Flag 2018-2019 certification or recertification.

The Blue Flag eco-label is awarded to destinations that manage to accredit 33 management criteria and environmental management, safety, application of environmental education activities and water quality. What places Huatulco as a first level destination in the care of its environment.

AMResorts, a luxury hotel company, maintains the AMResorts Dreams Huatulco Resort & Spa hotel in Dreams Tangolunda, for which Gonzalo del Peón, President of the chain, pointed out, “At the end of the season, our beach obtained a 100% rating compliance with the 33 criteria to be considered, thus becoming one of the 54 beaches recognized with the Blue Flag certification in Mexico; one of the two certified beaches in the state of Oaxaca; and the only beach in the world to achieve the perfect rating”.

Chahué and Tangolunda Dreams beaches are part of the 54 beaches and three marinas that have the distinctive Blue Flag in six states of the Republic and 13 municipalities.
