OAXACA, Oax.- Manuela, a 30-year-old woman, became part of the femicide statistics in Oaxaca when she was murdered with two gunshot wounds on a road that connects Villa de Zaachila with La Lobera, in the Central Valleys region of Oaxaca.
The “Rosario Castellanos” Women’s Study Group (GESMujer) explained that in the government of Salomón Jara Cruz, that is, from December 1, 2022, to April 24, 2023, they have documented 50 cases of murdered women.
The Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office confirmed the finding of the woman who was identified as Manuela L.A., who was located around 08:00 a.m. on the road to La Lobera in the municipality of Zaachila.
The Prosecutor’s Office initiated the corresponding investigations with a gender perspective and under the Protocol of Ministerial, Police and Expert Investigation of the Crime of Femicide, after the discovery of the lifeless body of a woman, located on a road in the town of Villa de Zaachila.
After learning of it, the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Crimes Against Women for Gender Reasons intervened, for which an investigation file was initiated for the crime of femicide.
