The head of the entity’s SSC also reported the capture of a man linked to the Sinaloa Cartel

Human remains were found in Oaxaca along with threatening messages signed by the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) on the morning of Monday, April 10, and on Saturday, April 8, suitcases were also found with human remains.

Specifically, on the outskirts of the Tanivet prison, it was reported that there was a human head near two drug messages. “We have arrived, and we are not leaving. This prison already has an owner. ‘Nabarro’ we are going for you”, could be read in one of the messages.

Likewise, in one of the cards found by the authorities, a threat against the director of the prison could be read: “All his officers are going to f**k off.”

Given these facts, the head of the entity’s Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC), Iván García, assured that the violent acts respond to the increase in drug dealing and fights between criminal organizations.

García indicated that both the so-called CJNG and the Sinaloa Cartel operate in the Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán region. “Who rules there? The Jalisco cartel and the Sinaloa cartel”, were the words of the head of the SSC, as reported by the El Universal media.

One of the actions by the authorities was the arrest of an individual identified as El Carnero, related to the Pacific Cartel, in addition to searches and seizures of drugs that would affect the criminal group. Similarly, he said that seizures have been made that affect both the Sinaloa Cartel and the CJNG.

“In this area the CJNG rules, as they are dismantling these cartels, the beating comes, as happens in other states. They start shooting to intimidate the authorities, this is not going to happen in Oaxaca, we are making seizures of both cartels.”

For Iván García, violent actions are the result of acts carried out by the authorities against criminal groups. “We are hitting these cartels,” he said.

CJNG and its alleged presence in Oaxaca

It should be remembered that on January 18, a video was shared in which alleged members of the group led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias El Mencho, announced their arrival at the limits of Veracruz and Oaxaca. On that occasion, six men with long weapons said they had come to “clear the land.”

They also indicated that all people posing as members of the CJNG would also be their targets. At the end of the recording, the individual who made the statements identified himself as El Comandante Sierra. During his message they mentioned various points and said they would not leave the area.

“This statement is for all the people of the Isthmus, Palomares, Matías Romero, Jalapa del Marqués and all its surroundings, we are the force with a suicidal mind, we are the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. We have arrived and we are not leaving, we have come to clear the land” said the first part of his message.

In other actions, on April 4, seven alleged members of the CJNG were arrested in Colima by members of the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR). In addition, 38 rifles, a grenade launcher, seven packages with marijuana, six ballistic vests, cartridges and chargers were seized.

One of the men arrested was identified as Armando “N”, alias El Bonito, who would be an alleged CJNG boss in the region, as reported by Luis Rodríguez Bucio, Undersecretary of Public Security during the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).

“We have the arrest of alleged members of the Jalisco Nueva Generación cartel in the state of Colima. There were seven people (…) among them, Armando ‘N’, alias ‘el Bonito’ (…) alleged leader of this cartel in Villa de Álvarez,” said Rodríguez Bucio.
