The Oaxacan Nadia López García won the 16th Mesoamerican Poetry Prize 2021 ‘Luis Cardoza y Aragón’ awarded by the Embassy of Mexico in Guatemala, Fund for Economic Culture and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Guatemala.

Considered by Forbes magazine as one of the most creative Mexicans of 2018, Nadia López García was born in Caballo Rucio, Tlaxiaco, in the Mixteca region, and has stood out as a bilingual tu’un savi-Spanish poet.

He also collaborated in the organization of the First World Meeting of Poetry of Indigenous Peoples and has directed poetic creation workshops for children and migrants.

He also directed the short film El tono, for the Ministry of Culture of Mexico City, and collaborated on the television series Weaving Roots.

He has published in Tierra Adentro, Punto de parte, Poetry Newspaper, Theme and Variations of Literature, La Jornada, Circulo de Poesía, among other media.

He has also won awards such as literary creation in Cenzontle native languages ​​in 2017, National Youth Award in 2018, Mexico City Youth Award 2019, House of Literature Award for children in 2020 and has an honorable mention in the Antonio Award. García Cubas in the children’s book category.
