16 surfers from Oaxaca are favorites of Conade National Games in Puerto Escondido

Oaxaca de Juárez.- A team of 16 surfers will represent the state in the Conade National Games, who will participate in the competitions that will take place from October 27 to 30 on the beaches of Puerto Escondido, Costa region.

The Oaxaca team will participate in the 15-16 year old category with Joelle Ramírez Pérez, in the short board mode; Sol Guadalupe by Granda Rubio, in prone; Yilvia Calesia de la Torre Santos, on a 9-kilometer stand-up paddle and a 200-meter sprint, and Luis Ángel Bustos Herrera, on a short board.

In the 17-19-year-old category there will be 12 surfers from Oaxaca, who have the most experience since their sporting development has been experienced in the waves of Zicatela and Punta Zicatela, home of the Conade National Games.

In short board, there will be surfers such as Laura Loginova, Summer Green Sivori, who faced the selection process for the Olympic Games; Alegría Maya Larripa, Gabriel López Cruz, Alberto de Jesús Ríos Salmerón and Gadiel Yael Galvis Moncada.

The prone modality has another acquaintance of Oaxacan surfing with Kelly Jaret Noyola García, Jesús Ariel Santos López and Edwin Alexis Ríos Salmerón. 

In the 12-kilometer stand-up paddle and sprint, Jhosay de Jesús Cruz Vásquez and José Manuel García Camacho appear.

Delia Montserrat Castañeda Camacho and Asaya Brusa, who was in the Olympic qualifying round representing Mexico heading to Tokyo 2020, are the designated coaches for this team, while Fernando Fernández Ruiz is the delegate.

The delegation is made up of a total of 19 people including surfers, coaches, and delegates.

The Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Oaxaca reported that the state team “keeps training in the waves of Puerto Escondido, prior to their participation in the Conade Nationals, where, being the hosts, they have the tag of favorites, despite that teams like the one from Guerrero have already arrived at this headquarters and the one from Nuevo León, which will arrive this week; both covering their expenses prior to the official tickets ”.
