HUATULCO OAXACA

The pandemic has affected various areas of Mexican life. Not a few people have lost a family member or loved one as a result of SARS-CoV-2; Furthermore, this pandemic has left severe economic damage, which is also happening in the Oaxaca Coast, specifically in Huatulco.

The main economic activity of Santa María Huatulco is tourism and it is mainly concentrated in three areas: Santa Cruz, La Crucecita, and Tangolunda. Most of the population of this municipality is dedicated to activities framed in the tourism sector.

Slow recovery process

This Oaxacan tourist destination expects a recovery in the years 2022 or 2023, given the drastic decrease in tourists from Canada.

In December 2020, the hotels in this municipality on the Oaxacan coast had an opening of up to 75 percent; however, as time progresses, it was reduced to 30 percent.

Currently, Huatulco is one of the 15 most important destinations in the country and also, during the pandemic it was able to occupy the first place in fewer infections of SARS-CoV-19. This tourist destination offers its visitors nine bays and 36 beaches.

This will be the Chahué Congress Center in Huatulco

Ten Arquitectos, the firm that is in charge of the project for the congress center in Huatulco, published the perspective images of what this building will be on its page.

With an ambitious modernity, the project proposes a complex that occupies the spaces that at the moment are not intended for construction.

Enrique Norten, one of the people in charge of the project, also spread the project for the Centro de Congresos y Paseo Marina Chahué in Huatulco on his networks.

The project considers five thousand square meters that will integrate an architectural project where there are cultural, commercial, and green areas.

With this project “we seek to complete the tourist and cultural program of one of the most emblematic points of the State of Oaxaca”, explains the brief text by Enrique Norten.

According to the creator, this space will provide new spaces for social recreation and enjoyment of the natural resources of the region.

Marina Chahué is a small port for luxury boats in Huatulco.

Also a site for bird watching and the starting point for the tour to the different bays in Huatulco.

The investment amount is as reserved both on the project page and on that of the Oaxaca government due to the electoral ban.
