Oaxaca reaches the peak with 13 hospitals at 100%

Oaxaca de Juárez.– The Covid-19 pandemic in Oaxaca reached its highest peak in hospitalizations since the beginning of the emergency on January 14, with 13 state hospitals reported at 100% occupancy in installed beds, according to the Oaxaca Health Services (SSO).

Juan Carlos Contreras Santiago, the coordinator of Planning and Development of the Health Jurisdiction number One “Valle Central” of the SSO, reported that this Thursday the network of Covid medical centers reported a general occupancy of 56.2% throughout the Health sector.

“We want to show with great concern that we continue to have a considerable increase in patients who are getting complicated. Currently, 13 hospitals in the interior of the state are reporting 100% hospital occupancy due to Covid cases, “he said.

To date, there are a total of 372 hospitalized patients, of which 22 were admitted in the last 24 hours, of the overall 247 correspond to residents of Valles Centrales, 52 of the Isthmus, 21 of Tuxtepec, 19 of the Coast, 32 of the Mixteca and one from the Sierra.

In contrast, there is an availability of 290 of the 662 beds available for Covid patients.

According to the agency, only this Thursday 244 new patients were counted, which correspond to 64 municipalities, for a total of 30,911 accumulated, to date the virus is active in 880 people.

Five more deaths were also reported due to the viral disease, for a total of 2,273 deaths.

Also, there is a cumulative of 27,758 people who have recovered from the disease, 4,627 are awaiting results and 14,037 have tested negative for the diagnosis.

By jurisdiction, the Central Valles recorded a cumulative 21,308 positives and one 1,197 deaths; the Isthmus 2,623 and 356 people have lost their lives; in the Mixteca there are 2,323 cases and 199 deaths; In Tuxtepec there are 2,125 infections and 286 deaths; on the coast, there are 1,544 cases and 150 fatal losses; and in the Sierra 988 patients, of which 85 died.

Regarding the municipalities with new diagnoses, Oaxaca de Juárez tops the list with 70 cases, followed by Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán with 20, San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec and Santa Lucía del Camino with 17, respectively; the rest seven, six, five, four and three, two and one case.

Contreras Santiago explained that unfortunately there is a global of 1,226 doctors, 1,537 nursing specialists, and 1,314 in other related areas, who have presented the respiratory disease.
