‘La Tlayudiza’: the flavor of Oaxaca conquers the Tianguis Turístico 2026

At the 2026 Tianguis Turístico (Tourism Fair), Oaxaca reaffirmed its position as the country’s gastronomic epicenter with the celebration of “La Tlayudiza,” an event designed to showcase the state’s rich cultural, culinary, and tourism offerings to key players in the sector.

The event brought together 600 attendees, including government officials from various levels, tourism service providers, business partners, and members of the media. Guests enjoyed the iconic Oaxacan tlayuda, paired with artisanal mezcal, in an exhibition that combined history, dedication, and local pride.

⇒ In addition to “La Tlayudiza,” the Destino Oaxaca (Destination Oaxaca) presentation took place, highlighting the diverse tourism offerings that distinguish the state, from its coasts to its mountainous regions.

“At the 2026 Tianguis Turístico de México, we held this event to promote the rich gastronomy of our state, which is complemented by our wonderful mezcal, as well as the Oaxaca Destination Presentation, where we shared the wide range of tourism offerings that distinguish us,” stated the state Secretary of Tourism, Saymi Pineda, on her social media.

With this participation in the 2026 Tianguis Turístico, Oaxaca not only seeks to attract a greater flow of visitors, but also to consolidate its destination brand as a benchmark of authenticity and tradition in the international market. “Once again, the Cultural Heart of Mexico envelops us with its pulse and vibrates with its magic for the world,” Pineda Velasco emphasized.
