Ten days after the Interoceanic Train derailment, service remains suspended on Line K, from Ciudad Ixtepec to Tonalá; the Tehuanito Sur intercity route; and, of course, Line Z, from Coatzacoalcos to Salina Cruz, the line affected by the accident.

To date, the authorities of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec Railway (FIT) have not announced a likely date for the resumption of service on these lines, which were already in use by the public.

Although Line K does not pass through the site of the derailment, and service is only suspended on its outbound route from Ciudad Ixtepec, Oaxaca, to Tonalá, Chiapas, the line is apparently due to technical inspections.

Meanwhile, the Interoceanic route from Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, to Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, via Line Z, will remain suspended until railway authorities certify the safety of the tracks and terrain.

The suburban train route known as El Tehuanito Sur, which conducted a week-long trial run from December 15 to 19 from Unión Hidalgo to Salina Cruz, passing through Juchitán, El Espinal, Ciudad Ixtepec, Comitancillo, and Tehuantepec, also remains suspended.
