Sectur Oaxaca invites you to the “Most Lively Party of All” events in the Central Valleys and Coast

The State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur Oaxaca), announced that various activities will be held in several municipalities in the Central Valleys and the coast for “The Most Lively Festival of All.”

The Undersecretary of Tourism Operations, Mariel López Villatoro, representing the Secretary of Tourism, Saymi Pineda Velasco, emphasized that this is one of the state’s most important festivals and is celebrated with muerteadas (a procession of death), comparsas (comedies), and food and craft displays.

In Soledad Etla, from October 25 to November 8, there will be various presentations, contests, and workshops. Other notable events include the following muerteadas: El Imponente Barrio de Abajo (The Imposing Neighborhood of Below), El Majestuoso Barrio de Arriba (The Majestic Neighborhood of Above), and Los Reyes Matadamas (The Matadamas Kings).

In the Cinco Señores neighborhood of Oaxaca de Juárez, the Comparsa Catrinas 2025 will be held on October 30th at 9:00 PM, and on November 1st, the traditional Comparsa Cinco Señores will be held, starting at 7:00 PM.

In San Agustín Etla, the band “La Universal, la de los Carnales” will perform in the San José neighborhood on November 1st, starting at 8:00 PM.

Likewise, on November 1st and 2nd, El Padre de las Muerteadas will be held in Guadalupe Etla; and in Santiaguito Etla, Los Hijos de la Muerteada will be held, starting at 5:00 PM.

On November 2nd, the 2025 Children’s Parade of the Dead will once again take place in the Cinco Señores neighborhood, departing from the mural on Prolongación de la Noria Street at 5:00 PM. On November 16th, the Eighth Women’s and Diversity Parade of the Dead will begin at the same location at 8:00 PM.

There will also be activities in San Jerónimo Yahuiche in Santa María Atzompa, Santiago Suchilquitongo, San Andrés Zautla, San Felipe Tejalápam, San Lorenzo Cacaotepec, Villa de Etla and its community of Santo Domingo Barrio Alto, Soledad Etla, Tlacolula de Matamoros, and San Antonio Arrazola in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán.

As well as in Villa de Zaachila, San Antonino Castillo Velasco, Puerto Escondido in San Pedro Mixtepec, Río Grande in Villa de Tututepec in Melchor Ocampo, and Santa María Huatulco.
