A video circulating on social media showing children drinking beer at a teenage wedding in the San Juanito Yosocani community on the Oaxaca coast sparked controversy and outrage.
In the video, the child, approximately 10 years old, is seen participating in the “pumpkin dance.” Afterward, he receives a beer and a soda.

Seconds later, the video shows the child standing in front of the teenage bride and groom, quickly drinking the beer, while the wedding attendees applaud and record the scene.
So far, no official institution, such as the DIF (National Institute of Family and Family Development) or any group defending children’s rights has commented on the matter.
