November festivities: Puerto Escondido lives its coastal cultural tradition

The Puerto Escondido November 2024 Festivities that take place in this beach destination bring together 14 delegations from the region, who share with locals and visitors the cultural wealth of the coast, its joy and pride in its traditions.

Santo Domingo Armenta, San Pedro Amuzgos, San Juan Lachao, Santos Reyes Nopala, San Juan Cacahuatepec, Santa Catarina Juquila, San Pedro Mixtepec, Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, Puerto Escondido, Villa de Tututepec, Santa María Tonameca, San Juan Bautista Lo de Soto and Santa Catarina Mechoacán are the delegations that are the protagonists of this festival that honors the coastal towns of this entity.

The Secretariat of Cultures and Arts of Oaxaca organizes workshops, book presentations and musicals, in coordination with the Houses of Culture and civil organizations of the region.

Throughout this month, the visual artist Iván Piza is leading the Afro Faces mask workshop at the Puerto Escondido House of Culture, in the Playas Limpias palapa in Santa María Colotepec, as well as at the San Pedro Mixtepec Public Library.

Likewise, the visual artist and engraver José Cruz Sánchez will teach the gourd engraving workshop aimed at young people and adults.

For his part, the cultural promoter Alonso Aguilar Orihuela presented the book +50 Contemporary Artists of Oaxaca at the Puerto Escondido House of Culture and the Plazuela de las Manitas in Santa María Colotepec over the weekend.

Another activity that was presented with great success was the Compositores de la Costa evening, with the participation of César Omar Zavaleta and Reydavid Zavaleta.

This celebration will culminate tomorrow with the Plastic Arts Workshop, in the palapa of Playas Limpias, in Santa María Colotepec, taught by Betsy Maryel, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
