The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Oaxaca (FGEO) arrested the alleged person responsible for the murder of a Canadian tourist in Puerto Escondido, identified by the name of Victor Masson.
After the murder, the Municipal Police notified the State Attorney’s Office, so the case was taken over by the Regional Vice-Attorney’s Office of the Coast, which deployed a multidisciplinary team.
After the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued against a subject with the initials M. O. S. L., who was arrested by elements of the State Investigation Agency on the streets of Puerto Escondido.
The victim was located on May 15 with bullet wounds and aboard his vehicle in the Arroyo Seco neighborhood of Puerto Escondido, belonging to the municipality of San Pedro Mixtepec.
The detainee is charged with the crime of qualified homicide with advantage and was placed at the disposition of the judge to determine his legal situation.
Added to this case is the attack on three Argentine citizens in which one of them lost his life.
On May 12, it was reported that a man attacked tourists with a machete in Lagunas de Chacahua, in the municipality of Villa de Tututepec, in the state of Oaxaca.
The victims were identified as Benjamín, 23 years old; Macarena, 29 years old, and Santiago, 22 years old.
Benjamín suffered three cuts to the head and died days later in a hospital, Santiago suffered wounds to the arms and a fracture, while Macarena has deep cuts to the back.
The attacker was arrested and brought to trial.
