They will establish temporary mobility centers to facilitate the transfer of migrants on buses and a security operation will be carried out to monitor and protect the progress of the caravan.

In Oaxaca, a strategy is being prepared to receive the migrant caravan that left Tapachula, Chiapas, with approximately five thousand migrants. Its destination is the border between the United States and Mexico.

They will establish a new mobility center in the Central Valley of Oaxaca to facilitate their safe transportation by buses to the center of the country.

The Secretary of Government, Jesús Romero, announced that one of the viable alternatives that are being considered is the creation of transfer or migratory mobility centers for temporary stays of eight to 48 hours.

“We are concerned about the caravan coming from Chiapas, we are going to be very attentive, because these phenomena already have another intention, and a different social and political nature, above all.”

He added that the exact date of arrival in Oaxaca is not known due to its irregular progress, but its progress will be monitored with the aim of having an outcome similar to that of previous caravans that dispersed.

He also mentioned that migrant flows remain constant in Oaxaca. According to the most recent report, in the last week, more than four thousand migrants were mobilized in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec area, from the Juchitán de Zaragoza mobility center.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Public Security and Citizen Protection, Iván García Álvarez, announced that a joint operation will be carried out with federal forces to monitor and protect the advance of the migrant caravan through the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca.

The objective is to avoid accidents and situations out of control.

A preventive alert has been issued to avoid possible social confrontations in municipalities where the presence of the migrant caravan is not welcomed.
