The Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGEO), through the State Investigation Agency (AEI), secured on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 25, a trailer with a shipment of allegedly pirated or cloned beer.

Given this assurance, the driver of the trailer is under arrest to carry out investigations into these events that occurred in the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in the Oaxacan state.

The state agency explained that the heavy vehicle was found by elements of the State Investigation Agency when the agents were making a tour of Tecnológico Avenue in Juchitán, Oaxaca.

Agents observed that a tractor-trailer was parked on the side of the road and appeared to be hidden behind some bushes.

When approaching to request a review of the unit, a male person offered the agents money to avoid it, but the police “refused.”

After reviewing the trailer, the elements of the AEI observed that behind various packages of sugar, presumably cloned beer cans were hidden. They had the “Modelo” brand in a 355 ml presentation in packages of 24 pieces per wrapper.

Police elements arrested the driver and secured the trailer and cargo. The Prosecutor’s Office specified that a team of experts will carry out the pertinent analyzes and studies to find out if the beer was altered and its chemical composition.
