An explosive device was launched by unknown persons at the Domino’s pizzeria premises, leaving four people injured and material damage to the property of this company located in the center of the city of Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca.
This Friday afternoon the authorities of this city were alerted, after a loud explosion was heard in the center of the city, for which the relief forces and elements of the Municipal Police and the State Agency for Investigation (AEI) immediately appeared.
The allegedly handmade artifact hit the floor, causing damage to the windows of the main façade, and the shock wave managed to perforate some canvases from the shops surrounding the place.
Two men and two women were treated by the elements of the H. Oaxaca Fire Department, Juchitán Substation, who immediately provided first aid, while they were transferred to the city hospital.
Until now, the state of health of the injured is unknown, since they had some injuries in various parts of the body, for which they remain in medical care.
Witnesses assured that the explosive was thrown by people who came aboard a motor unit, who immediately fled, without being located so far.
Since the opening of this pizza sales business began, there have been protests by some groups, since they were opposed to the installation of this business, arguing that it would affect local businesses dedicated to the same line of business, however, the branch was inaugurated on May 25 of this year.
It should be noted that this is the first time that an attack of this type has occurred in this city. Therefore, the ministerial authorities have begun to carry out the corresponding investigations to find those responsible for this unfortunate event.
After the attack with an explosive device in a pizzeria located in the center of the city of Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, the Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGEO), began an investigation with the intervention of experts from this agency.
Through a statement issued by this agency, it states that “according to the first investigations, two people aboard a motorcycle would have launched the explosive -which is under investigation by the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena)- against the business premises, causing minor injuries to two people (a man and a woman), as well as property damage.”
Personnel from the State Investigation Agency (AEI), experts in different specialties, as well as elements of the National Army went to the scene to carry out the corresponding procedures.
“Acts such as those that occurred this Friday afternoon in Juchitán are thoroughly investigated by the FGEO, to find those responsible and seek justice, thus avoiding impunity,” the official document states.
In addition, the Oaxaca Prosecutor’s Office will immediately request a joint intervention program from the federal, state and municipal authorities that allows the reinforcement of surveillance actions to prevent criminal acts in the area.
According to the report of the Municipal Coordinator of Civil Protection of this city, José Manuel Ríos Cartas, four people were injured, but only one of them required hospitalization, due to the injury to one of his legs, due to the impact of the metal fragments expanded by the explosion.
The main façade of the place was destroyed by the expansive impact of the explosion that, according to witnesses, was heard several blocks from the place where the device was detonated.
