Government of Oaxaca declares the Guelaguetza Auditorium ready and renovated for “the greatest party of Oaxacans”

Oaxaca de Juárez.- Less than a month before the July festivities begin and after eight years of not providing maintenance, the state government reported that the rehabilitation and improvement works of the Guelaguetza Auditorium were completed, for which the authorities declared that “It is ready and in conditions to celebrate the maximum party of the Oaxacan people,” reported the Secretary of Administration Antonino Morales Toledo. 

The official pointed out that work was carried out to rehabilitate and improve the stands, velaria, corridors, dressing rooms, points of sale, toilets, quarry wall, tunnel access and parking lot, as well as the general cleaning of the so-called Roundabout of the Azucena.  

“By indications of Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, maintenance was provided to the Guelaguetza Auditorium for the enjoyment of the Oaxacan people, national and foreign tourists of the presentations that will be held around Lunes de Cerro,” he said. 

He also reported that the corresponding signage was installed and the rehabilitation of the lighting system that had not been carried out for more than eight years. 

Morales Toledo highlighted that the work was carried out by the Undersecretariat of Heritage, Material Resources and Services and the Coordination of Services and Maintenance of the Secretariat of Administration to clean 11 thousand 162 benches located in the four sections; paint the signs on stairways, ticket offices, registers, garnishes and sewer drainage. 

In addition, 16 LED luminaires were installed in the recreational area, 16 circular metal poles were rehabilitated; In the hallways at the entrance to the Auditorium area, 120 luminaires were located, as well as 12 20-watt directional luminaires in the tunnel for wall projection and 20 Led-type wallwasher luminaires. 

While in the Guelaguetza Auditorium, six high-power Led projectors were installed to illuminate the stage, as well as 100 3-watt luminaires and the change of ballasts were located on the steps. Also, 60 pendant lights were rehabilitated, and 34 sodium vapor lights were changed. In addition, the rehabilitation and commissioning of elevators in the parking lot was carried out.
