According to local media, the guardians of the animals asked the authorities to give them food and water, since they have not consumed anything for two days and may die.

For its part, the Attorney General of the State of Oaxaca  initiated an investigation folder for the crime of animal cruelty, this after “two vertebrate animals (sheep) were locked up in the municipal jail.”

The justice unit also mentioned that it seeks to know if there is any legal responsibility for the events that occurred in Santa Catarina Yosonotú, located in the Oaxacan Mixteca.

So far it is unknown how many days the two imprisoned sheep have spent without water or food, as well as the state of health of the animals; The authority has not released any new information in this regard.
