The Educational and Cultural Center of the State of Querétaro “Manuel Gómez Morín” (CECEQ) dressed up and began the activities of the festival “Oaxaca Presence in Querétaro”, which will end on May 22 of this year.
“We want to recognize the effort of the organizers and artisans to give life to public spaces like this, so that they know a little bit of Oaxaca, its culture and gastronomy; and that you also enjoy all the sanitary measures”, highlighted the general director of the CECEQ, Emanuel Contreras Martínez.
During the inauguration, alebrije workshops were held for boys and girls, and families gathered to try black, yellow, red mole, jerky, tlayudas, as well as traditional drinks such as cocoa water.
The central show of the Guelaguetza toured Pasteur Street and Constituyentes Avenue, attracting the gaze of Queretanos to enter the Gómez Morín facilities and enjoy this live show full of joy and folklore.
From Monday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the work of 50 original exhibitors can be seen and admission is free; Likewise, various original artistic groups will be presented, such as Tropical Ismo, who will give their show on Fridays at 2:00 p.m.
On Saturdays, at 1:30 p.m. the Sicarú Project will be presented and at 3:30 p.m. you can enjoy the Calenda with Oaxacan Roots; while on Sundays, at 1:30 p.m., the Trio Monte Albán will delight the public with regional music to give way to the show of the authentic Guelaguetza.
The official name will be “Presence of Oaxaca in Querétaro” and it will take place from May 6 to 22 at the Gómez Morín.
The cultural meeting will feature the participation of 70 original exhibitors and different live events.
At the event there will be:

- typical snow
- textiles from all regions
- table linen
- fine jewelry and filigree
- traditional beverages
- typical meals

- Friday, 2:00 p.m. Tropical Ismo group
- Saturdays at 13:30 Sicarú Project
- Saturdays 15:30 Calenda with Oaxacan Roots
- Sundays 1:30 p.m. the Trio Monte Albán
The inauguration of the Oaxacan festival will take place on May 7 at 11:00 a.m. and will close on the 22nd at 4:00 p.m. at the Manuel Gómez Morín facilities in Querétaro.
