The National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur), calls on the population to avoid being victims of fraud or participating in illegal acts, since it has been detected that various companies commercialize land or projects in the Comprehensively Planned Center (CIP) Huatulco, without the authorization or required opinions from Fonatur and/or the local authorities.
Being a CIP, there is a defined land use; Likewise, it has been detected that individuals carry out supposed transfers of ownership without owning the surfaces, endangering the tenure rights of those who buy.
Those who carry out fraudulent sales, transfer of rights, or supposed domain transfers, will be reported to the Attorney General of the Republic. The above includes the land in the Bajos de Coyula and El Arenal areas.
Fonatur urges those interested in acquiring a property in Huatulco, to verify the legal background and that the real estate development project of their interest has the approval of Fonatur and thus provides that investors have legal certainty about the property.
