Oaxaca de Juárez.— The Oaxaca International Dance Show (MIDO) begins its 22nd edition with an intervention from the public space, a fusion between the Byt Band and the Zancudos from San Pedro La Reforma, Zaachila, to publicize their music and dance.
In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, this 2020 the sample will be completely virtual, so at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, they will be broadcast live, through the social networks of the House of Culture Oaxaqueña, the songs “Así somos acá”, “Pinotepa” and “Kim Garnacha” by the Byt Band, while the Zancudos de Zaachila will perform their dances to the beat of the music.

Its members Zaira Ávalos (drums), Alejandro Reyes (bass), Rey Coyote (guitar), Mauro Hernández (trombone), Xaab Nëwex (trumpet), and Jorge Reyes (keyboard) assure that the name of the band has to do with fusion . soft and tlayudas, two common words that we can hear mentioned when we visit a market in the city of Oaxaca.
For their part, the Zancudos de San Pedro La Reforma, Zaachila, is a group that was founded and directed by José Mendoza Ortiz, and that has had important presentations throughout its history, such as the 1975 Pan American Games and in the maximum celebration of the Oaxaqueños the Guelaguetza since 2008.
